M.Ed, University of Tulsa
BA, University of Tulsa

Amber Drew earned her bachelor’s degree in English and Music from the University of Tulsa. Originally a music performance major and English minor, it was while fulfilling her life-long dream of studying abroad in England that she realized her love of writing, literature, and research was something she wanted to share with others as a teacher. She then worked as a graduate teaching assistant with education undergraduate majors and earned her Master’s in Education with secondary English certification, also from the University of Tulsa.

Amber has taught in both public and private schools at the high school level, teaching English as well as coaching high school praise and worship bands. What is most fulfilling to her about teaching is making the writing process accessible and demystifying the methods of research and argument for all her students, especially the ones who vowed they would never be able to write anything. She enjoys watching them take ownership, craft their thoughts, and work on paper. Amber is currently pursuing an M.A.-Ph.D dual degree in English literature where she constantly learns new ways to enrich her own classes and make literature more alive and meaningful to students.

Amber lives in eastern Oklahoma with her husband and one-year-old son who reminds her every day of the joy of learning and delighting in God’s creation.
