Jennifer Hanson earned her bachelor’s degree in Education with minor in history from University of Nebraska. In the fall of 2019, she will complete her master’s degree in educational leadership from Lubbock Christian Unversity. Jennifer’s primary research interest is in civil war, World War II and early twentieth century. She has fifteen years of teaching experience. Five of those are teaching online. Jennifer is also a homeschool mom and helps run a homeschool co-op on Friday.

Various travel and work opportunities have enhanced Jennifer’s love of history. Last spring, Jennifer had the opportunity to travel to Washington DC. While in Washington DC she visited the United States capital, Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson monuments. She enjoyed visiting Arlington Cemetery and the tomb of the unknown soldiers. Her favorite part of Washington DC was the Bible museum and the World War II monument. Jennifer and her family have visited Vicksburg and Gettysburg Battlefield because of their passion for history. She also visited the Ford museum to research information over the Model T.

Jennifer is excited to teach with HSLDA Online Academy and to share her passion for history with her students! She looks forward to meeting her students and conveying to them how history enriches lives and how God’s plan shaped the United States.

Jennifer lives in Texas with her husband and three kids. They have two cats, three model T cars and one model A car. She enjoys running, reading, researching family history, antique shopping and spending time exploring Texas and United States history.
