Kristin McMullin, High School Classroom Teacher for EnglishClassroom Teacher

BA, University of Maryland

Kristin McMullin was homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. A highlight of her undergraduate experience was the summer she spent studying English poetry at Cambridge University.

After graduation, Kristin taught English and American literature at Montgomery Christian Institute, a hybrid school designed to partner with homeschooling families. As a former homeschool student and an educator, she understands the unique nuances and needs of homeschooling families and students.

Passionate about the ability of literature to broaden the soul, Kristin enjoys creating an inviting learning environment through which students encounter moments of discovery and joy. She believes that in learning about human experience through reading, we uncover the beautiful intricacies of God's greatest creation—humanity. These discoveries help us understand who God made us to be and the ways in which humanity distorts or reveals the image of God.

A Maryland native now living in Los Angeles with her husband, Kristin enjoys checking out too many books at her local library, hiking, and exploring National Parks as often as possible.
