Maximilian HartClassroom Teacher

MA, Signum University
BA, Thomas Edison State University

Maximilian Hart initially spent two years at St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami, FL, studying theology and philosophy. He then decided that God was calling him to a different form of ministry. He completed his BA in English from Thomas Edison State University and his MA in Language and Literature with a concentration in Imaginative Literature from Signum University, where he serves on the Board of Directors.

Continuing his academic studies, Maximilian has focused on the intersection of philosophy and imaginative literature and seeking to reconcile the beauty and truth that can be found in the works of non-Christian authors with a Christian worldview. All goodness, beauty, and truth come from God, and Maximilian strives to instill this in his students as they explore literature and form their own communicative talents. His favorite authors to read and study are J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Ursula K. Le Guin.

Maximilian was homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. He taught homeschool classes before he became a certified classroom teacher. Maximilian is excited to bring his experience and passion for literature to the students of HSLDA Online Academy.

When he's not reading books for class or his own students' papers, Maximilian is spending time with his wife and children or pretending to improve at chess.
