Megan Bowman earned her bachelor's degree in Social Studies and Secondary Education from Appalachian State University and her Master’s of education in Advanced Studies in Teaching and Learning, with a concentration in History, from George Mason University. She enjoyed the opportunity to study abroad for a summer term in 2004 at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy. She also worked as a historic interpretative intern with the National Park Service at the Eisenhower National Historic Site in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in 2006.

For the past thirteen years, she has taught 9th–12th Grade Social Studies classes in Fairfax and Loudoun County Public Schools and HSLDA Online Academy, including AP® World History: Modern, AP® US History, and AP® European History. Her favorite topics to study include ancient Greek and Roman history, early church history, the Protestant Reformation, the American Civil War, World Wars I & II, and the Cold War. She always looks forward to getting to know her students and facilitating fun and engaging World and European History classes.

Megan lives in West Virginia with her husband Kevin and their three daughters Lizzy, Victoria, and Ally. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, hiking, playing guitar, baking, and spending time with family, friends, and their beagle, Bella.

Megan has been teaching with the Academy since 2015 and is very excited to be teaching again with HSLDA Online Academy this academic year.
