Sarah Simmons earned her bachelor of arts degree at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina. She majored in English Literature and minored in Creative Writing. While pursuing her degree, Sarah served as a course assistant at Lenoir-Rhyne. Sarah is eager to provide a productive and enjoyable environment for her students at HSLDA Online Academy.

Sarah loves how literature can connect us with other people and cultures through stories and narratives. She admires how God is present in so many of those stories, even when He is not explicitly mentioned. Sarah enjoys helping students experience the joys of literature, even if they find reading and writing boring or frustrating.

Sarah grew up in the Research Triangle of North Carolina and currently lives in Durham with her husband and baby.
