Darcy Robblee
Darcy Robblee earned her bachelor’s degree in literature from Patrick Henry College and her master’s degree in theatre history and criticism from The Catholic University of America. After graduation, she put her education to work teaching homeschool co-op classes, directing children’s plays, and homeschooling her own children.
Darcy has extensive teaching experience ranging from pre-K to adult learners. She also designed a curriculum for directing A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream for an age-integrated Pre-K to 6th grade class. Darcy believes that drama games are a powerful way to approach learning and interpret literature, especially Shakespeare.
Most recently, she taught an intense grammar program for a classical Christian homeschool organization. Because Christians are called to know God through His Word, Darcy believes that reading well is one of the most important skills to learn. She looks forward to conversing with students about quality literature and engaging them in the creative and challenging process of learning.
Darcy runs a busy paper-writing, science-experimenting, math-doing home of bibliophiles in the Northern Virginia area. In her free time, she, her husband, and six children enjoy reading aloud, playing outside, singing, and hosting literature themed parties such as “Mrs. Beaver’s High Tea” or “Bilbo’s Birthday.” Unsurprisingly, C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien are two of her favorite authors.
