Erin Quinn
Erin Quinn is a homeschool graduate and alumna of HSLDA Online Academy. She earned a B.A. in English with minors in History and Latin from Mississippi State University, where she was a member of the Shackouls Honors College. Erin has published research articles on nineteenth-century British literature and presented conference papers on a variety of classic literary works.
As a university Writing Center tutor, Erin loved helping students develop and clearly communicate their ideas in writing. She also enjoyed helping others engage with literature by leading discussions on C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien in MSU’s “Inklings Club” and by introducing students to key concepts of literature and creative writing as the leader of a middle-school book club.
Some of Erin’s greatest joys revolve around studying literature. She looks forward to guiding Academy students to their own moments of connection with classic stories. Erin is excited to help young people grow in devotion to Christ, appreciation for the world, and empathy towards others by fostering an understanding of great literary works. She hopes that experiencing wonderful writing of the past inspires students as they develop their unique voices and learn to confidently share their perspectives.
When not reading, discussing, and writing about books, Erin enjoys playing the piano, visiting museums, listening to classical music, and spending time with family. She lives in Oxford, Mississippi.
