Jessica Pittelkow
Jessica Pittelkow earned her bachelor’s degree in classical liberal arts with a pedagogy minor from Patrick Henry College. She was born and raised in a rural Oregon town and is a homeschool graduate herself. She spent most of her free time as a child either practicing harp and piano or reading the longest books she could find.
After getting married and moving to Texas, Jessica taught for two years at a Christian school where she fell in love with teaching. She spent one year substitute teaching various K-12 classes and especially enjoyed working with high schoolers. Jessica looks forward to discussing great works of literature with students and helping them hone their writing skills. She is passionate about encouraging students in their development of a lifelong love of learning.
Jessica and her husband recently moved back to the Pacific Northwest. In their free time, they love to travel internationally, hike in the Cascade mountains, and kayak the lakes and rivers of the northwest. Jessica also likes to bake new recipes and read long past a reasonable bedtime. Her favorite books include Les Misérables, Elizabeth Gaskell’s North and South, and anything by C.S. Lewis.
Jessica has been teaching with the Academy since 2020.
