Cally Henrichs

Classroom Teacher

Cally Henrichs earned her bachelor’s degree from Regent University with high honors. Her passion for history began at an early age and has continued throughout her life. She was nominated for the Gilder Lehrman History Teacher of the Year Award in 2021.

Cally’s first job was at Agecroft Hall, a Tudor Museum in Richmond, VA.  She has previously taught U.S. History, History 6, and World History I and II. She has studied and traveled throughout the United Kingdom, Portugal, Italy, and Spain. These travels enriched her deep love of history and provided hands-on experience in some of the world’s most incredible places. The Reformation, the Victorian Age, World War II, and the American Civil War are among her favorite time periods.

Cally strives to impart a passion for learning to her students while encouraging their daily walks with the Lord. She believes the next generation will do great things for the Kingdom, and so it is important for them to see the hand of the Lord in the past, present, and time to come. It is through equipping our young people now with Truth that they can confidently grow into adults who know and trust the Lord in all things.

In addition to teaching, Cally is the author of three books, Hang in There, Girl! (2022), Dear Future Husband (2023), and The Wallflower that Bloomed (2024), which encourage young people to pursue rooted relationships with Christ and to live the life He has authored for them. Since publication, The Wallflower that Bloomed has won two literary awards. Cally also writes for crosswalk.com and the Rooted Network. Cally enjoys hiking, cooking, bird watching, and mentoring youth at her church.

Cally has been teaching at the Academy since 2019. To learn more about Ms. Henrichs, check out her teacher feature on the Academy blog here!
