Dan Beasley hails from Nebraska where after being homeschooled through high school he went on to earn a juris doctorate from Oak Brook College of Law and a master’s degree in applied biblical studies from Moody Bible Institute. Dan worked as a legal assistant at HSLDA for several years during law school. After graduation, he gained experience practicing law at a small consumer protection law firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As an HSLDA staff attorney, Dan assists individual homeschooling families and advocates for homeschool freedom in 13 states. He regularly corresponds with school officials, college admissions staff, legislators, and government agencies regarding the legality and effectiveness of homeschooling and represents families who face legal challenges to their right to homeschool.

Dan and his wife Bethany (also a homeschool graduate and a photographer) are homeschooling their four children. When he’s not working or teaching, Dan enjoys CrossFit, coffee, and family day trips to trails, rivers, and parks in the beautiful Shenandoah valley.
