Dawn Pruyn

Dawn Pruyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Louisiana State University. 

She taught high school mathematics in the school system in Baton Rouge, LA for eight years, then “retired” to stay home and raise her children.  Dawn was then blessed with the opportunity to join the staff of Louisiana Virtual Academy, where she worked as a course writer, online teacher, and teacher trainer for over a decade. Dawn enjoys the challenge of making mathematical concepts understandable and even fun for her students. Her love of mathematics and her passion for teaching have motivated her to continue teaching and tutoring both online and in person over the years.

Dawn currently lives outside of Houston, Texas with her husband and their seven children.  She began homeschooling her own children several years ago and is an active part of her local church and homeschool community. She also enjoys reading, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.

Dawn has been teaching with the Academy since 2021.
