Devon Kelly
Classroom Teacher
BA, Thomas Edison State University
Devon Kelly earned a BA in English from Thomas Edison State University. She has been teaching literature and writing online since 2014 to students ages 8-18. Although she has always loved books, she remembers first truly appreciating language and syntax when she read “A White Heron” by Sarah Orne Jewett and “The Weight of Glory” by C.S. Lewis.
Devon has a passion for helping others to read critically and think creatively. She hopes her students will appreciate the beauty and power of words as well as communicate their own thoughts clearly. Her ultimate goal is that her students will know Christ more and share His truth better as a result of the skills they develop in her classes.
Her poetry has been published in several literary journals. When she has spare time, she enjoys playing piano music (especially music by J.S. Bach), baking, and gardening. She is excited to help the Academy’s students grow as thinkers, readers, and writers in view of Christ the Word.
Devon has been teaching with the Academy since 2019.
