Devon Kelly, High School Classroom TeacherClassroom Teacher

BA, Thomas Edison State University

Devon Kelly earned a BA in English from Thomas Edison State University. For the past six years, she has been teaching literature and writing to students ages 8-18. Although she has always loved books, she remembers first truly appreciating language and syntax when she read “A White Heron” by Sarah Orne Jewett and “The Weight of Glory” by C.S. Lewis.

Devon has a passion for helping others to read and think critically. She hopes her students will appreciate the beauty and power of words as well as communicate their own thoughts clearly. Her ultimate goal is that her students will know Christ more and share His truth better as a result of the skills they develop in her classes.

In addition to teaching English, Devon teaches piano from her personal studio. When she has spare time, she enjoys listening to music (especially music by J.S. Bach), writing poetry, baking, and gardening. She is excited to help the Academy’s students grow as thinkers, readers, and writers in view of Christ the Word.

Devon has been teaching with the Academy since 2019.
