How much homework is in Biology?

We estimate that the course workload will take 7–10 hours per week.

During a typical week in this course, students will complete the following coursework:

Each 2-week module consists of theoretical (week 1) and practical (week 2) components.

Week 1

  • 60-90 minutes of live class instruction
  • Introductory lecture video
  • 2-4 module lecture videos (20-30 minutes per video)
  • Vocabulary learning and practice
  • 1 chapter textbook reading per 2-week module (~30 pages)
  • Key concepts outline (handwritten or typed)

Week 2

  • 60-90 minutes of live class instruction
  • Lab experiment lecture videos (optional)
  • 2-4 lab experiments
  • Lab journal or formal lab report (varies by week)
  • Module test

Throughout the year, students will also complete the following tasks:
