Jessica Pittelkow
Classroom TeacherBA, Patrick Henry College Jessica Pittelkow was born and raised in a rural town in Oregon, homeschooled by her parents. Growing up, she spent most of her free time either practicing harp and piano or reading the longest books she could find. She earned her bachelor’s degree in classical liberal arts with a pedagogy minor from Patrick Henry College. After getting married and moving to Texas, Jessica taught for two years at a Christian school where she fell in love with teaching. She spent one year substitute teaching various K-12 classes and especially enjoyed working with high school students. Jessica and her husband recently moved back to the Pacific Northwest. In their free time, they love to travel internationally, hike in the Cascade mountains, and kayak the lakes and rivers of the northwest. Jessica also likes to bake new recipes and read long past a reasonable bedtime. Her favorite books include Les Miserables, Gaskell’s North and South, and anything by C.S. Lewis. Jessica looks forward to discussing great works of literature with students and helping them hone their writing skills. She is passionate about encouraging students in their development of a lifelong love of learning. |
