What topics will I learn about in Macroeconomics?

This course will introduce students to the basic principles of macroeconomics and how to approach economic issues from a biblical worldview. By the end of the course, students should have a solid understanding of:

  • Basic economic concepts,
  • Measurement of economic performance,
  • National income and price determination,
  • The financial sector,
  • Inflation, unemployment, and stabilization policies,
  • Economic growth and productivity,
  • International trade and finance, and
  • Biblical perspectives on economics.

The course will employ readings, lectures, video segments, graphing tutorials, and PowerPoint presentations to enhance understanding of these topics. Students will be expected to make use of the aforementioned resources to successfully complete the homework assignments (including assignments from the Econ Central website), participate in discussion forums, and prepare for quizzes and exams.
