Sue Amory Verner earned her bachelor's degree in English literature and her master's degree in linguistics from the University of Delaware. She also obtained a master of arts degree in missions and evangelism with a concentration in youth ministry because she is passionate about guiding young people both academically and spiritually.

Sue has been teaching for over 25 years in private schools, universities, churches, and online. Sue knows from personal experience how much impact a piece of literature can have on a young person and how it can influence their beliefs and values. Sue believes that seeing life through another’s eyes gives us a unique opportunity to develop the compassion and empathy that Jesus calls his believers to have for all people.

Sue loves not only teaching literature but writing it too. Her publications have appeared in several national magazines, and she is currently writing her third young adult novel. She lives in the Pittsburgh area with her family and a very noisy turtle.
